“We understand sustainability as the consistent orientation of our actions towards recognized and understandable ecological and social values. As a medium-sized company, we have always been deeply rooted in our region. The vertical integration of our group promotes local value creation, so that essential parts of our value chain remain in the region.”

“The Baumschule Oberdorla makes an important contribution to climate protection. Through the sustainable cultivation of resilient tree species such as the titanium larch, we contribute to carbon sequestration. Our expertise in the cultivation and preservation of old fruit tree species also promotes biodiversity and supports ecological stability. In this way, the Oberdorla tree nursery actively strengthens the protection of our natural resources and contributes to sustainable development.”

In 1713, von Carlowitz wrote his Sylvicultura oeconomica in Freiberg and focused intensively on reforestation and sustainable use due to deforested woodlands, aiming to secure the wood supply for mining and smelting industries. Even 300 years ago, economic and ecological aspects were interconnected, and profit and sustainability were not contradictory. He was the first to coin the term "sustainability".
